Thanks to colorectal cancer screening and advances in treatment, the death rate from colorectal cancer has declined. In fact, screening is also allowing more colorectal cancers to be found earlier when the disease is easier to cure. There are now more than 1 million survivors of colorectal cancer in the United States. Colorectal cancer screening can help save lives!

In order to help promote colorectal cancer screening, MD Anderson Cancer Center is hosting its 9th Annual SCOPE (Sprint for Colorectal Oncology Prevention and Education) 5K Fun Run/Walk.

SCOPE invites you to partner with us to build awareness, promote education and celebrate survivorship, Saturday, March 22, 2014.

Fundraising For SCOPE
I had not truly realised what my Mom went throught during her battle with Colon Cancer until last year when I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer myself. Although my mom lost her hard fought battle with the disease I was diagnosed early through regular screenings. I went straight to surgery on December 26, 2012 and then 3 months later ran the SCOPE 5K. I look forward to December 26, 2017 when I can be declared cancer free! Please join me in running/walkng the Sprint for Colorectal Oncology Prevention and Education (SCOPE) 5K Fun Run/Walk. Your donation will help build awareness, promote education and celebrate survivorship. Early screenings are key to survivorship!
