Beneeezy Purple Monkey Fun Run

The Beneeezy Purple Monkey 1k/5k/10k Fun Run/Walk is held at Alvin High School during Labor Day weekend in memory of Ben Garcia.

By the spring of 2021 the Ben Garcia Memorial Fund will have awarded $255,000.00 dollars to Alvin ISD students. Thanks for your support!!!

Location
Alvin High School 802 S. Johnson, Alvin, TX 77511. The race start/finish line is at the corner of W. Dumble and 2nd st. (AHS football stadium entrance). 1k-7:00 a.m.-start 5k/10k-7:30 a.m.-start

Friday, Sept. 3, 2021 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Thelma Ley Anderson YMCA 3201 Hwy. 35, Alvin, TX 77511. Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021 ***RACE DAY*** 6:00 a.m.-7:00 a.m. in the Alvin High School gym 3, 1300 W. Dumble St.,  Alvin, TX 77511.

Fees

1K- $15.00 before August 1. $20.00 August 2-September 3. $25.00-race day                                                                                                    

                                  5K//10K-$30.00 before August 1. $35.00 August 2-September 3. $40.00-race day

Course
The 1k course is two and one half times around the Alvin High School track. The 5k course is a scenic 3.1 mile loop around the Alvin High School campus. The 10k course is a double loop of the 5k course. USATF Certified Course 5k-TX16079ETM 10k-TX16080ETM

Awards
1k run/walk: 1st place girl/boy finisher. All participants will receive a commemorative medal and t-shirt.

5k/10k run/walk: top three finishers in each age category (5 year increments)will be awarded a unique stuffed purple monkey.

Post Race Party
There will be live music and plenty of refreshments and door prizes at the post race awards ceremony. Contingent on the COVID19 pandemic status in late summer 2021.
