Running for Greater Things (RGT) has joined forces with Families for the Fatherless. This partnership cements our commitment to caring for the orphan – in any capacity – as instructed in James 1:27: Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
The mission of Families for the Fatherless (FFF) is to share God’s compassion and His love for the fatherless. The purpose of FFF is to worship God through orphan care, including adoption, foster care, child sponsorship, missions, and parent education & support.
We are excited to share that last year, RGT5 raised $19,000 for the HOPE Project in Kigali, Rwanda. The HOPE Project is led by Ten Talents International, and stands for Housing, Opportunity, Purpose, and Education. Orphaned boys and girls in Kigali, Rwanda are in need of a safe home where they can have the opportunity to go to school, receive medical care, and have basic needs met. Property has already been purchased and work has begun to build a girls’ home and boys’ home to give these children a safe place to live and learn. You can follow the progress of the Hope Project here.
Stay tuned to see how you can make a difference this year by participating November 7, 2015 in our 6th Annual Running for Greater Things!! More details to come!
