EVENT INFORMATION

The challenging and fun workouts will improve your child's running, get them into their best shape and prepare them for the upcoming cross country season. Workout sessions will be held on Mondays-Wednesdays-Fridays with an optional long run on Saturdays.

Led by experienced long-time coaches Carlos Franco and Lance Phegley, each week will feature a speed workout, hill repeats and a fartlek session - all on grass.  Coach Carlos was a two-time UIL state champion while at A&M Consolidated and sports a mile best of 4:24.  He has helped numerous athletes achieve their goals over the past couple of decades - whether that was completing their first race, setting a new PR or qualifying for the state championships.  Coach Lance was a scholarship runner for the University of Houston where he ran a mile best of 4:06.  Later he helped coach the women's distance runners at UH, has worked with dozens of high school and middle school runners and helped launch and was the coach for the first-ever Sugar Land Middle School XC team.

Three levels for campers of all abilities: Advanced (current mile time of 5:59 or faster - mostly MS & HS runners), Intermediate (current mile time between 6:00-8:00 - mostly HS, MS & elementary runners) and Intro (ages 6-12).  Each camp will have sub-groups of about 10 runners each so each camper will work out with others of similar abilities.  This allows them to make new friends, run with kids about the same speed and share the workload of each effort.  These sub-groups will be constantly evaluated and adjustments (moving runners from one group to another) will be done as needed.

All participants should bring a running watch, large beach towel, water bottle, a journal and a pen.

Advanced camp lasts from 6:50 a.m. to 8:40 a.m. while the Intermediate camp and Intro camp lasts from 8:10 a.m. to 9:50 a.m.

Please read the details for each camp (Advanced, Intermediate, Intro) below before choosing which camp to register for.  If you have questions, please ask!
