Funky Heart 5k & Mile Walk 2022

Join us for the Funky Heart 5k and Mile Walk to celebrate healthy hearts and funky hearts!  Proceeds from this event go to support the programs of Conquering CHD - Michigan.  Conquering CHD - Michigan provides hope and support to families dealing with congenital heart defects from prenatal diagnosis through adulthood.

Packet Pickup

Race packets can be picked up at Riverside Park, 2001 Monroe Ave, Grand Rapids from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, September 16th. Race packets can also be picked up the morning of the race beginning at 7:00 am.

Race Day Schedule

Registration and packet pickup begin at 7:00 AM.

Kids Zone activities begin at 8:15 AM.

5k begins at 8:30 AM.

Mile Walk begins at 9:45 AM.

Tees and Finisher Medals

All 5k and Mile Walk participants registered before August 19th will receive a long sleeve cotton shirt or short sleeve technical shirt. All registered participants will receive a custom finisher medal.  For those registering after August 19th, shirts and medals will be available until supplies run out.  Registrants can participate in both the 5k and Mile Walk for one registration fee, but participants will receive only one shirt and one medal.

Course

The 5k and Mile Walk will be on the paved paths in Riverside Park.  Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome on both courses.

Timing and Awards

The 5k will be chip-timed.  There will be age-group awards for the top male and female finishers.  The Mile Walk will not be timed.

Pets

For the safety and comfort of our participants, pets are not allowed.

Virtual Running

If you can't join us in Grand Rapids, Michigan, you can run the race virtually wherever you are.  We will send your shirt and finisher medal to the address you provide.

Event Cancellation

If it is necessary to cancel the in-person event due to state or local restrictions, your shirt and finisher medal will be mailed to the address provided with your registration.
