Bike the Gem

Flossmoor’s Future is hosting a third annual community bike ride on June 4th, 2022 to highlight the 13.1-mile course of the Hidden Gem Half Marathon and to celebrate ZIP CODE DAY (06/04/22).  Flossmoor residents, registered half marathon runners, and the just plain curious are invited to “Bike the Gem” and then go to the day long festival in Flossmoor Park.

This year's ride will feature two different options for riders of all ages:

Full 13.1 Mile ride (recommended for healthy riders ages 12+)- This will be a relatively fast-paced ride of 13.1 miles over the complete Hidden Gem Half Marathon course.

Registration and check-in for this ride will open at 11:00am- The ride departs at 11:45 am.

Kids Ride- 13.1 Blocks- This ride will be for those 10 and under with parents and grandparents to ride the last mile of The Hidden Gem Half Marathon course and share in the joy of crossing the finish line.

Registration and check-in for this ride will open at 12:00 pm - The ride departs at 12.45 pm.

This year's community ride will finish in Downtown Flossmoor and the party will just be getting started! A once-in-a-lifetime party for 60422 zip code day will be held from 1:00 pm- 8:30 pm. Beer and food will be available for purchase after the ride.

THERE WILL BE A PROTECTED BIKE CHECK AT THE 60422 PARTY.

Flossmoor Police and Fire will provide an escort and traffic control. Check-in for the ride starts at 10:00 am in front of Infant Jesus of Prague School, Douglas Avenue, and Flossmoor Road, in Flossmoor.  Ride resign in starts at 11:00 am. Ride leaves at Noon.

All riders must register in advance, wear a helmet, and sign a waiver. No unaccompanied minors will be allowed to ride without a guardian.
