The 20K follows the same route as the 50K/100K until all riders exit the Englewood Reserve onto Frederick Pike. Our 20K riders will turn right (south) on Frederick Pike while the longer routes turn left (north). 20K riders will follow Frederick Pike to their rest stop at Polk Grove Church (intersection of Frederick Pike and US 40). After some delicious refreshments at the 20K rest stop, riders will continue on the route as it heads south on Frederick Pike and takes them on a scenic journey back to the Vandalia Sports Complex (main check-in).
The 20K route is well marked and detailed maps are available online and in limited supplies at registration. For your safety, the entire route will be monitored by the Vandalia Freedom Tour volunteers and will have police support at all major intersections. Since our 20K riders are typically more novice riders, the 20K participants have a scheduled start time of 9am (NOT A MASS START FYI) with a goal for all 20K riders to be done by 11am. Lunch begins at 10:45am and ends at 2:00pm so plan your ride time accordingly.
