The race course is USATF sanctioned and certified. Water stations will be available at the starting line, finish line and mid-way on the course. The race is closed to all bicycles and rollerblades. For the safety of all runners, participants with strollers must begin towards the back of the starting line. Pets are prohibited on the race course.
TEAMS
Start your own Shamrock Strut team! Gather at least eight of your walking/running buddies and strut together! Send your fundraising link to your friends and family members and encourage them to support you and the many adults and children on the verge of losing their eyesight.
The Team and Individual Runner who raises the most donations (registration fees not included) will be recognized during the Post-Race Party and will receive special post-race goodies!
AWARDS
Awards will be given to Overall and Masters Divisions Male and Female. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Male and Female finishers in the following age divisions will receive an award:
- 12 and under
- 13 - 19
- 20 - 29
- 30 - 39
- 40 - 49
- 50 - 59
- 60 - 69
- 70 and over
To be eligible for an award, a runner must wear assigned chip and be timed. There is no duplication of awards.
The Kids K is a non-competitive event. All Kids K finishers will receive a medal.
*Don your St. Patty’s Day best and enter the costume contest! Prizes awarded for the Most Green, Most Irish and Most Unique.
After the race, join us for the carnival at our post-race party! This family-friendly event will be great fun for everyone. Activities include face painting, moonwalks, vendor games, door prizes, hula-hoops station, arts and crafts station, delicious food and drinks from local vendors, and music to groove to provided by 104.1 KRBE. Friday, March 20: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Houston Eye Associates (2855 Gramercy, Houston, 77025)
