Welcome to the Columbus Eastside Running Club (CERC)!
CERC conducts two training sessions per year, targeting the Capital City Half Marathon and Flying Pig Marathon in the spring and the Columbus Marathon and Half Marathon in the fall. While the majority of our members train for one of these local races, many runners train with us in preparation for other races and we try to offer other schedules for a variety of races.
CERC is currently operating in two locations, Columbus and Baltimore, Ohio. We meet on Saturday mornings every week, and later in the season on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. as well. Columbus meets primarily at St. Charles Prep School in Columbus for our Saturday runs (2010 E. Broad St., Columbus). Baltimore meets primarily at the Baltimore United Methodist Church for their Saturday runs (200 W Market Street, Baltimore).
CERC's training program is based on the hard/easy approach. We believe that runners should train at a pace significantly slower than their expected race pace and include sharpening sessions and schedules to ensure a quality program. We accommodate a variety of paces for our Saturday long runs in 30 second intervals. Feel free to contact us for a current list of pace groups that we accommodate for Columbus and Baltimore, as these pace groups will vary slightly from season to season.
CERC has 12 Team Oregon certified coaches, and several RRCA certified coaches. Along with your CERC membership you will get: a 20% discount at Second Sole in Gahanna; weekly emails with training information; full access to our website to view the training schedules and tips; water stops (Gatorade & water) at Saturday and Wednesday runs; a CERC technical running shirt; and a lot of new friends to run with each week!
CERC is a proud to partner with Second Sole Gahanna, New Balance, and OSU Sports Medicine.
