Space Coast Runners has a rich history of running all over Brevard County. Over the past 43 years we've grown from an idea on a cocktail napkin to one, if not the largest, running clubs in Florida. We're proud of SCR's history and very much look forward to its future.
Space Coast Runners was founded.
1983
The first Runner of the Year Series was held. It kicked off in January.
1984
The club's executive board made the decision to add a Board of Directors to govern the club and its decision making.
At the suggestion of board member, Marty Winkel the club presented its first Golden Shoe Award. The award was given to Gary Harbison. The club intended to present the award annually.
