Founded in 1983, the Second Wind Running Club is Champaign-Urbana's premier running and walking club. Membership is open to all ages and levels, from beginning walkers to seasoned runners. With around 500 members, there is truly something for everyone. We have fun activities and events around the year, which include, weekly fun runs, speed sessions, trail runs, volunteer opportunities, pizza parties, and other social events....

There are lots of opportunities throughout the week to run with us. Below are the regular programs, however, visit our Facebook page or join our mailing lists to stay in the loop. Our club has several races of its own. Club members direct and manage the events. The Allerton Park Trail Run is our hallmark race, started in 1983 by club founders. The Clinton Lake Trail Run is an ultra that draws runners from afar. Finally, the Buffalo Trace run is a wonderful trail run held at the Mahomet Lake of the Woods.
