Training programs are available for half, full, and ultra marathons, intermediate 10K, and beginners looking to run their first 5K. We have a great team of over 80 experienced pace leaders and coaches to guide you to your goal race. All participants receive a detailed training plan written by RRCA-certified distance running coaches. DRC training programs are only available to members. Learn more about becoming a member. Fast Track

The DRC Summer “Fast Track” Program is a 12-week program designed to help runners improve speed, strength, and efficiency.  This program will begin on May 7 and end on July 25th. This program will have structured workouts on Tuesdays and Thursdays administered by one of our RRCA coaches.

Walking Fitness Group 

The DRC Spring “Walk this Way" program is a 10-week program designed for individuals who have are interested in learn to train in a fun, social, non-competitive atmosphere .  This program will aims to build a walker's endurance to complete a 10k or increase racing distance. This program will begin on May 4, 2019 and end on July 13, 2019. All groups will meet at the DRC clubhouse on Saturdays at 7:00 AM and Tuesdays at 7:15 PM.

Mile 0

The DRC “Mile 0” Program is a 10-week program designed to help new or newly returning runners learn to train and complete a 5k race in a fun, social, non-competitive atmosphere.  We want to educate and encourage new runners to train effectively and adopt a more active lifestyle.  The “Mile 0” program begins with walking, gradually mixes in running, and then builds up to runs of 3 miles or more.   The group runs will help participants stay accountable and motivated by others going through a similar experience.  This program will begin on May 4th and end on July 13th. All groups will meet at the DRC clubhouse on Saturdays at 7:00 AM and Tuesdays at 7:15 PM.

“Run 2.0”
The DRC “Run 2.0” program is a 10-week program designed for runners who have just completed the “Mile 0” program or who have already completed a 5k. This program will aim at building a runner’s endurance to complete a faster 5k or increase racing distance. This program will begin on May 4th and end on July 13th. All groups will meet at the DRC clubhouse on Saturdays at 7:00 AM and Tuesdays at 7:15 PM.

Early Fall Marathon Training

The DRC Early Fall Marathon Program is a 20-24-week program designed to help new or returning runners learn to train and complete a marathon.  Participants will do Tuesday and Thursday workouts with the Fast Track. The first Saturday long run will be June 8th. This training program will target Chicago, Marine Corps, and New York City marathons. We will do a combination of speed, strength and long distance workouts.  We have groups starting with 3:10 to 5+ hour Run/Walk.  This program will begin on May 7th and end on October 22. All groups will meet at the DRC clubhouse on Saturdays at 6:00 AM and Tuesdays (some Thursdays) at 7:00 PM.
