CARA's Michelob Ultra Marathon VIP Experience is an exclusive area for runners, friends, and family on marathon day in Chicago. It's a comfortable start marathon weekend in Chicago, and a fun post-race atmosphere to re-unite, featuring food, Michelob Ultra beer, medal engraving, and a convenient location. Plus, our private porta-potties by the start corral entrance!

Event Times: 

  • Doors open at 5:30 a.m. 

  • Food and beer close at 3:30 p.m.

  • Gear check closes at 3:45 p.m.

  • Doors close at 4:00 p.m.

*2020 CARA Summer Marathon Training Program runners, you DO NOT need to register. Instructions will be provided in training program newsletters during the summer.


Ticket Pick-Up:

  • Runners must pick up their VIP wristband at the Abbott Health & Fitness Expo from the CARA booth (Expo Location Map). Wristbands may only be picked up by the named ticket holder. Wristbands will not be given to others, and ticket holders will be required to put on the wristband at pick-up. Those purchasing multiple wristbands under the same name may pick up all of their wristbands and will only have to affix their own wristband.

  • Please note, CARA training program runners your training shoe tag is NOT your ticket. You must pick-up a wristband.

  • Guest post-race wristbands must be picked up by the ticket purchaser at the CARA booth. They do not have to be affixed at the expo. 

  • CARA training program runners who are not running the marathon, but plan to attend the Michelob Ultra Marathon VIP Experience, may pick-up their wristbands at the expo or on event day beginning at 5:30 a.m. 

  • Please bring your photo ID to pick-up your ticket. Wristbands may only be picked up by the registered ticket holder. Wristbands may not pick up tickets for other persons.

  • Further details about the event will be e-mailed to ticket holders and training program runners prior to the marathon.

Terms / Details:

  • Member discount ($25) is applicable to CARA Supporter Level memberships (Individual, Family or Student package).

  • 2020 CARA Summer Marathon Training Program runners do not need to purchase a ticket. Access is included with the training program, but you must pick-up a wristband at the expo.

  • Only registered attendees may enter the space prior to the race start. After the start, friends and family may reunite and join runners at the space at no additional cost. Amenities, including food, beer, and finisher medal engraving, are for ticketed attendees only.

  • Attendees may purchase a limited number of guest tickets ($20) during registration that provides their guest/s (non-marathon participants only) access to food and beer post-race. Guest tickets are for non-participating runners and may not be used by participating marathon runners.

  • Credit card registration fee payments are subject to a service fee by our registration provider. To avoid online credit card fees, send the check for the amount owed to CARA, 1100 W. Cermak Rd, #231, Chicago, IL 60608. Provide full name, e-mail and note that check is for Marathon VIP Tickets. CARA will then contact to complete registration.

  • Registration does not include entry or registration fees for the marathon race.

  • Refunds / Deferrals: No refunds/deferrals will be issued for any reason.

  • Age Minimum: Runners must be 21 years or older to receive alcohol. No discounts for those under 21.
