The ROAD program provides opportunities for new and emerging disadvantaged minority/woman-owned business enterprises (D/M/WBE) to partner with established firms in a mentor/protégé program designed to enhance technical and industry knowledge to better compete for procurement opportunities at NTTA and similar regional entities.
“As you can imagine, this provides an abundance of opportunities for these consultants. It also strengthens NTTA’s commitment to increase opportunities for diversity participation in construction and professional service procurements,” said NTTA Director of Business Diversity Anthony Coleman.

This is NTTA’s fourth class since the program’s inception in 2009. To date, 30 teams have completed the program. One consultant that previously participated as a protégé will now serve as a mentor, the ideal path of a ROAD program participant.

About the NTTA
The North Texas Tollway Authority, a political subdivision of the state of Texas, is authorized to acquire, construct, maintain, repair and operate turnpike projects in the north Texas region. The nine-member board is comprised of Chairman Kenneth Barr; Vice Chairman Bill Moore; and Directors William D. Elliott, Matrice Ellis-Kirk, Mojy Haddad, John Mahalik, Michael Nowels, George “Tex” Quesada and Jane Willard.
The NTTA serves Collin, Dallas, Denton and Tarrant counties and owns and operates the Dallas North Tollway, President George Bush Turnpike, Sam Rayburn Tollway, Addison Airport Toll Tunnel, Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge and the Mountain Creek Lake Bridge. The NTTA is able to raise capital for construction projects through the issuance of turnpike revenue bonds. NTTA toll projects are not a part of the state highway system and receive no direct tax funding. Tolls are collected to repay debt and to operate and maintain the roadways.
