In the summer of 1974 a 40-year-old master runner traveled from Houston to Eugene, Oregon to participate in the first U.S. Masters Track & Field Championships. His enthusiasm for Masters' running prompted him to form the Houston Masters Sports Association. Originally a small group of runners dedicated to promoting an active lifestyle for 40+ athletes, the club eventually grew to include athletes of all ages. And, just as with the original Masters group, today's club members are dynamic, active and innovative in the running community....
