EVENT INFORMATION

The 2021 South Shore Half Marathon has been cancelled. Milwaukee County Parks is not currently reviewing permit applications, so we are unable to secure the permits necessary to host this event.

We look forward to bringing back the most budget-friendly half marathon in 2022!

The Badgerland Strider South Shore Half Marathon is the most budget-friendly half marathon you’ll find.  In fact, for BLS members, it’s less than $1 per mile!!

–          And guess what?  You’ll get swaaaaaaag too!  The famous gloves and versatile buffs are included and you’ll get a little something to remember your race at the finish.

–          And guess what else?  We’ll have snacks and refreshments (included) at the end in the pavilion.

–          And finally, yes, we said pavilion.  This all this starts and ends at a heated indoor pavilion – just in case the weather isn’t cooperative.

Think you’ll need more than 3 hours to finish?  If so, we have extended the cutoff time to 4 hours to take some of the pressure off by allowing you to start early.

This is a USATF certified course (out and back) that run primarily on a paved asphalt path.  Whether you’re tuning up for Boston in a couple weeks or just need to get out of the house to run or walk a half marathon, this is a wonderful spring race on a great course with plenty of perks that won’t break the bank.  Come join us and we’ll look forward to seeing you in April!

$13 for BLS members

$20 for non-Strider members (good reason to join)

$30 for all on Race Day

Q&A

PARKING? – There is plenty of street parking.  Arrive a little earlier to park a little closer.

HEADPHONES? – It is encouraged that you not wear them to enjoy all the sights and sounds on your way to 13.1 miles but if you must, please do so in a manner that allows you to be mindful of your surroundings, other runners and volunteers.

REFUNDS – Sorry, no refunds

CAN I WALK? – Yes you can.  We increased the cutoff time to 4 hours just for this reason.  After the 4 hour limit though, we do need to pack up / clean up.  Many of our wonderful volunteers have just helped out through a very long day that we don’t want to stretch out too late.  We’ll get those of you needing more time off to an early start.  Gun start / chip finish.

AGE AWARDS? – There will be an age group award table in the pavilion post race.  There will not be an award ceremony but there will be volunteers helping to get your award once the official results are sorted.

FINISHER AWARDS? – Just cross that finish line after 13.1 miles and one of our friendly volunteers will give you a little something to remember your race.  This was introduced in 2018 and very well received.

PACKET PICKUP – Come get your bib and swag race morning in the pavilion.

I HAVE TO “GO”!! – Don’t worry, there will be portables by the start/finish as well as a couple places along the course.

WEATHER? – We have had absolutely perfect weather and some not so perfect weather.  Either way, the race will happen.  It’s in April.  In Wisconsin.  Need we say more?

I PR’D! – Give the old PR bell at the finish a good ring and let everyone around you know it!  We love PR’s

VOLUNTEERS – Please thank them, give them a high fives (if you wish) and let them know you appreciate their efforts.  They work very hard to provide you, the participant, the best race experience they possibly can.

FEEDBACK – Post the good stuff all over the place loud and proud!  Any other type of feedback…please message the RD in private first – we’ll do our best to address.
