Siberian International Marathon:
Siberian International Marathon (SIM) is the oldest Russian Marathon as it has the 27-years history and it is one of the largest sport and cultural events in Russia. It always has a high level of organization and attracts thousands of participants and spectators. In 2016 we are expecting around 15 000 runners to take part in our event.
SIM is annually held in the city of Omsk, 3 hours from Moscow by plane or 2,5 days trip by Trans-Siberian Railway - the world longest railway line. Omsk is the birthplace of running traditions in Russia. Omsk is also: the major historical and cultural center of Siberia, administrative center of Omsk region, the second largest city in Siberia and the eight largest city in Russia.
Siberian International Marathon has the classic marathon 42,195 and a 15 km race as competitive distances. In addition there is a 5 km fun run. Based on a statistics weather temperature will be +21 °C.
In 2016 Siberian International Marathon will be held on the day of Omsk City’s 300 years anniversary on the 7th of August.
The event is included in the AIMS calendar and it is also was an only russian holder of IAAF Bronze Race Road label.
The course of Siberian International Marathon is certified by AIMS and IAAF and satisfies all the international standards (international certificate of a "A" class). It is a mostly paved and flat route going along the Irtysh River bank, sights of Omsk and some districts of the city. Start will be at 09:00. Start and finish are in the same place - on the square of the Uspensky Cathedral.
The organizers team provides visa support and help with accommodation. Also there are official and unofficial entertainment program where all the participants are always welcome.
