Strider 5 Mile Championship 2024

The Florida Striders are proud to present our new race and distance - the Strider 8K Championship.

The course will be located in the Fleming Island area, with exact details to come shortly.  

This race will be the final leg of the 2024 Strider Championship Series.  The awards banquet for the entire series has been set for Saturday, November 30th.  More information can be found at https://floridastriders.com/cs/floridastriders/page.detail?page_id=159

The race begins at 8:00 AM on a brand new course.  This is should be a flat, fast course with minimal hills. 

Please note we will be closing registration 15 minutes prior to the start of the race to allow participants to start on time.  Packet pickup will go all the way until race time.

We will be selling Strider swag and apparel with our new logo displayed.  Also on sale will be former race t-shirts.  Come prepared to browse this new feature.  

NEW Florida Strider 1/4 inch zip pull overs and a championship series tech shirt will be provided to each registrant!

Registration

Online registration is open now, as well as in the First Place Sports stores. There will also be day of race registration, but don't wait until then, as the prices go up. Early packet pickup at one of the 1st Place Sports locations is highly encouraged.

Awards

This year's awards will be very unique and specific to the overall finish.

1st, 2nd and 3rd place age group awards , 1st place male and female master and grandmaster awards.

Runners can check with the volunteers near the Awards table to see if they placed, or they can go to the 1st Place Sports website. 

Refreshments

There will be a water station on the course at mile 1 and mile 2, and refreshments on tables beyond the finish line area.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FAMILY MEMBER RACE REGISTRATIONS

For Strider Family Memberships, every family member who is going to register for our races MUST HAVE THEIR OWN PROFILE. This is the way to register spouses and children correctly and get our Club race discount rate.

Here is how to do it. One adult in the family is the Family Head. When this person logs in to our website and looks at their profile, they will have an ADD MEMBER button on the upper right of the profile. They will give each family member their own username and password and complete the form. After doing this, proceed to race registration for each family member.If the Family Head has never logged in to our website, they can click Forgot Password and follow the instructions

NOTE- This action is not required to register in our Free Fun Runs. Those registrations take place on race day only.

***Online registration closes at noon Thursday, October 31st, but you can still register at any one of the 1st Place Sports stores until 6pm on Friday, or at the race Saturday morning starting at 6:00 am.

 

Pre-Race Packet Pickup 

Pre-Race Packet Pickup is encouraged to ensure you get a jacket and shirt. We always try to have a surplus but neither is guaranteed on race day.
